Q-Mark 45th Anniversary Licence Presentation Ceremony cum STEM Mark Certification Framework Launch |
|
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the introduction of Q-Mark. To commemorate this significant occasion, the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council hosted the Q-Mark 45th Anniversary Licence Presentation Ceremony cum STEM Mark Certification Framework Launch on June 16th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event, which was officiated by the Chief Secretary for Administration Mr Chan Kwok-ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, marked the announcement of the STEM Mark Certification Program.
Since its establishment, Q-Mark has consistently adapted to the changing times and has launched a range of certification programs, including the Red Mark, Gold Mark, Cyan Mark, and Green Mark, in response to consumers' needs. These certification programs are available for application by enterprises, manufacturers, and retailers. This year, a total of 240 enterprises were awarded the Q-Mark Licenses under various Q-Mark certification schemes, including 95 for the Hong Kong Q-Mark Product Scheme (Red Mark), 62 for the Hong Kong Q-Mark Service Scheme (Gold Mark), 68 for the Hong Kong Q-Mark Service (Cyan) Scheme (Cyan Mark), and 15 for the Hong Kong Green Mark Certification Scheme (Green Mark).
On the occasion of Q-Mark's 45th anniversary, the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council announced the launch of the STEM Mark Certification Program to expand its quality certification services further. This move is in response to the need to nurture local talents for the I&T industry. The STEM Mark Certification Program is based on a 1.5-year research project commissioned by FHKI with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the report was just released last month. The Program will be officially launched in January 2024, but its 6-month pilot program has begun upon the announcement at the ceremony. Businesses are encouraged to actively participate actively in the pilot program.
