The Hong Kong Q-Carbon Certification Scheme |
|
Climate change has brought unprecedented challenges to the world. Hong Kong is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the community to cope with the impacts of climate change. At the same time, the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council actively encourages enterprises to adopt clean and renewable energy, enhance energy efficiency, conserve energy, foster greening initiatives, and raise public environmental awareness.
By conducting carbon audits, we can effectively understand and measure our carbon footprint and formulate appropriate carbon reduction measures.
In order to assist companies in carrying out carbon management work, the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council launched Hong Kong Q-Carbon Certification Scheme at the end of 2024. This provides a step-by-step approach to driving business capabilities in handling carbon audits and promoting best practices in carbon management.
What is a carbon audit?
A carbon audit, sometimes called a carbon footprint, is a method of measuring and recording a company's greenhouse gas emissions within a specific system context.
